BRAIN STORM

On Friday's lesson we discussed ideas for our film opening and watched a few clips from other years to get some inspiration. The people in my group are; Agatha Parry, Kate Bradford and Demi Collins.

My group and I decided that our  genre for our film opening would be crime/ thriller based. We chose this genre as we were inspired by the Amber Alert Warning in the USA. This is when a child has been abducted and warning messages have been sent to all the mobile phones in the state. This will be similar to our film opening as there will be a young missing girl, who has been taken by a kidnapper and her parents and the police are trying to find her. The cast will be as follows: a missing girl, a suspected killer/ kidnapper, parents of missing girl, a police officer and a news presenter.

We've discussed some locations that we could use for our film opening, such as the basement in Agatha's house and  a living room in a house. The basement will be used to keep the girl trapped, it is a good location as it's old and dusty and no one uses it.

We will use make-up to make the missing girl appear to have purple bruises over her body and face and some small cuts on her face. This should give the illusion to the audience that she is in severe pain and has been treated badly. At the beginning of the film opening we will use sound effects such as the use of creaky floor boards, the sound of a gun shot, background music, therefore building up the tension, running through the woods and heavy breathing from the girl. This will add suspence and apprehensiveness for the audience.
