PLANNING TREATMENT

Film Title; Working Title

It's 2014 and a young girl, INDIA, aged 16, has been kidnapped. INDIA is trapped and locked up in a man's old basement in his house, located in a very remote place, surrounded by forest. The kidnapper, JACK, has mental problems, with a history of being obsessed with kidnapping young girls for no apparent reason, other than he may just want the company, but other than that he doesn't quiet know what he is doing and why. We are led to believe that he is mental as he has had a very troubled past, with an abusive mother and absent father. Growing up as an outcast with no loving family or friends has led him to him mental condition.

The situation and conditions for INDIA is bad, she has been locked up in the basement for 4 days (72 hours) now and she has many wounds and cuts over her body, as she is not treated with any kind of care and she has become malnourished, making her weak and fragile with little energy, therefore making it harder and harder for her to escape. However, INDIA is fed and is provided with water as Jack wants her alive. She manages to eventually break free using a knife to set herself loose from the tight rope attached to her hands and feet and then knocks down the door.

She is able to pull enough strength together in order to escape from the mental, middle aged, man and his house and runs straight into the forest/woods. As she runs out of the front door she sees a mobile phone on a desk next to the door. Without thinking she grabs the phone and runs out the door. INDIA quickly becomes confused as to where she is and frantically tries to run as fast as she can to get away from the kidnapper, trying to avoid all the trees and pushes any branches out of her way. INDIA then has a flashback of her being locked up in the basement and her hands being tied up, this stresses her out and she begins to run faster. Behind her, however, is the kidnapper trying to chase after her. As INDIA continues to run she starts to get another flashback of the torment and horror she has experienced and starts to panic, making her breathing become heavier. The flashback shows the man taking away the knife from INDIA'S neck and we see a fresh cut over her neck, with INDIA shaking, trying to contain the pain.

INDIA continues on searching for a way out of the forest and tries to find somewhere safe. However, she soon gets very bewildered about what to do and starts looking around to see any obvious way out.  A third flashback occurs and this time we see INDIA whimpering from the pain and the man then whispers "Ssshhh", with his finger over his mouth. INDIA tries to stop sniffling and then the flashback ends. After the flashback she makes use of the phone and calls the police. A women picks up and says "999 What's you emergency". Meanwhile, INDIA hears a noise from behind her and whispers "He's here...!" as she starts to turn around. The kidnapper then raises his arm to align the gun he is holding with INDIA'S body and then we hear a fire from the gun. At this point the title of the movie appears, with a black background, with an audio of the phone making a "beeping" noise. The voice of the female operator then says "Hello.... Hello are you there? Hello...?"

  1. You explain this very clearly, so I'm impressed with the detail and clarity. What will make this film opening different from other 'chase through the woods' film openings?
