In today's lesson we explored the school grounds in order to find good sites/ locations for our film opening. Whilst exploring we took many photos so that we could remember where we wanted to film and considered different types of camera shots, such as panning, that we could include in our film opening. For many of our scenes we will be using the forest and woods to film the girl running away from her kidnapper. The pictures below are some of the locations that we will use to film.
We took this picture because it gives a good effect of the forest that she finds herself in, it also seems to be on-going and she can't find any way out of the woods as it all looks the same. As a group, we decided that we will use a 360 degree angle shot, with the camera spinning round, this will show the audience how lost and confused she feels as it gives a dizzy feel/effect.
Although we haven't made a final decision about this scene with my group I suggested that this the missing girl could run across the field/ grass, with the use of a tracking camera shot, as she enters the forest to become unseen and harder to find for her kidnapper. It would be an effect shot to shoot as we could start the scene with a wide shot to give the audience a feel for where she is and where she is headed.
This could be another possible location to scene at as it gives a good feel for the never ending stream of trees and forest, emphasising how lost she feels. Again, the use of a wide or long shot could be effective here. Furthermore, the blocking of the light, due to the tall continuous trees, could give the audience the illusion that she is heading for the darkness, suggesting something bad might happen, therefore leaving the feel of suspense for the audience.
You show clear understanding that it is important to explain the reasons for your choices and decisions.
